I thought I saw the Lady cry ~ beneath her glory and might I thought I saw her shed a tear ~ beneath the New York sky I thought I saw her shoulders, heavy ~ laden with empty sorrow I thought I saw her close her eyes ~ praying for tomorrow I thought I saw her bow her head ~ in deep and dark despair I thought I saw her flame grow dim ~ atop her jaded hair And twixt the pale blue moon and the plumes of burning embers I thought I saw the Lady sigh ~ from times that she remembered Of freedom and liberty ~ happiness and peace The pursuit of every American ~ from sea to shining sea Where once she stood in pride ~ a symbol of our Nation She now stands humbled with sympathetic reservation Peering down upon the ruins ~ she sees a glimmer of hope An echo of prayers ~ from her patrons, she loves so There in the multitudes ~ in the wake of fear & tragedy In the light of darkness ~ humanity helping humanity With resolve in her eyes ~ I thought I saw her smile As she looked towards the ocean ~ across many a mile Standing still for liberty ~ justice and peace Still the beacon for the world ~ and all that still believe In freedom and humanity ~ God's only grace That terror shall never deprive ~ nor steal ~ from the whole human race.... Special Note: Tears of Liberty has recently been inducted into the Ellis Island collection of commemorative poetry in honor of the Statue of Liberty in New York City, NY. Vision - The foundation of success If success is a destination then vision is a guide for giving us the direction. It would be great if someone could pluck the vision from a tree, but unfortuantely this is not the reality. Here we have to be the creator of it.Vision is like a child, who grows with the time. It depends on you how fast it grows. You have to water it with your imagination and cherish it in your brain till you get success from it.It comes in small ideas which are very difficult to care and every idea contains a slogan… 3. Imagination: The Most Powerful Force Albert Einstein said that imagination is the greatest creative force. Why would such a great man say something that sounds so silly and trivial? Look at those words again: ‘greatest creative force’. Imagination? Not education? Nor money? Nor luck?Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, said that imagination is the most marvelous, miraculous, inconceivably powerful force the world has ever known. Before you pass him away as a crackpot, know that Mr. Hill was an advisor to two U.S. president… 4. Better Future? Better Start Now! Famous Hockey Star Wayne Gretsky once said, 'You miss 100% of the shots you never take.' Famous Southern mother (mine) frequently said, 'You can't win if you don't play'. Those words often still ring in my ears today - Am I willing to agree to losing by not at least trying, I ask myself. Many times I've heard myself complain, 'I'm trying so hard, but nothing seems to be happening.' When it actually comes down to it, however, what I'm doing is thinking about it a lot - not actually doing anything … |
